The Fairbanks Housing and Homeless Coalition (FHHC) is an association of community members and organizations joining forces to eliminate homelessness in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. The 1994 Task Force on Homelessness has grown into a coalition of over 30 agencies providing lifesaving services to Fairbanks’ homeless and at-risk populations that endure the harshest of conditions and a struggling economy. The coalition’s January 2017 Point In Time (PIT) count assessed well over 200 currently homeless individuals in Fairbanks. Additionally, there are likely many more who were not present for the count. The number of individuals and families in Fairbanks that are at risk of becoming homeless is in the thousands.

While the homeless situation in Fairbanks is daunting, there is hope. The coalition agencies are saving lives daily through emergency services, education, and compassion. The homeless community is a cross section of the most vulnerable groups of society, including children, the elderly, and those with disabilities. The coalition is working tirelessly to provide the homeless community with the stability and dignity they need and deserve. The FHHC has several stories of people progressing from the dire conditions of homelessness to becoming productive members of society that give back to the community.

The Fairbanks Housing and Homeless Coalition would like you to join us in our 10-year goal. We will continue to push for success until homelessness is eliminated in Fairbanks, in partnership with the City of Fairbanks and the North Star Community Foundation.

The Fairbanks Housing & Homeless Coalition cordially invites you to become a service provider, sponsor and/or volunteer for our annual Project Homeless Connect, a one-day, one-stop event to provide information, services, and hospitality. This convenient one-stop model is a way you can help bring service providers, government agencies, and the general community together to address a problem that affects all of us.
