Stars Of Gold Readers works to remove barriers, expand opportunities, and assist families and school staff members in supporting strong literacy success. Providing books and activities which affirm all identities and reflect the diversity of our global society increases the likelihood of life-long readers. Children are more likely to engage with books when they see themselves reflected on the page. Stars of Gold Readers is reviewing and purchasing books that will help children see themselves and others in a positive way.
Our goal is to develop an anti-bias toolkit for family workshops and classes for educators to use with children. Titles will include the themes of Alaska Native/American Indian, African American, LGBTQ+, Disabilities, and Under-Represented People and Families.
